The rise in the numbers of young people harming is well documented but it’s still a much-misunderstood issue with as many as a fifth of Girls and 1 in 10 boys reporting Self harm. This course will give you a basic understanding on self-harm
Areas covered in this training include:
An understanding of the causes and types of self-harm, including triggers
How to support a young person who is self-harming and where to get further help
How to respond to a disclosure from a young person
The Trainer is Jo Fitzsimmonds from Youthscape
Jo is a youth worker from Birmingham formerly heading up the alunmia project at Self harm UK. She is hugely passionate about seeing young people reach their full potential and has worked for over 20 years in many different settings with young people gaining a vast knowledge about self-harm and emotional resilience.
